Our commitment to privacy

Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains how HeartLife uses personal and organisational information collected through the www.heartlifeindicator.com website.

The Privacy Policy relates to the collection and use of personal and organisational information you may supply to us through your conduct on the website. Our information handling practices are continually reviewed to ensure they are privacy friendly. Where applicable, HeartLife has opted to apply the National Privacy Principles, and in respect of Commonwealth Public Sector engagements the Information Privacy Principles contained in the Australian Commonwealth Privacy Act (the Privacy Act).

Throughout this document “HeartLife and its associated features” are defined as: the HeartLife Benchmark Indicator, the HeartLife Self Score Indicator, the HeartLife Others Score Indicator, the Personal Development Guide containing the Effectiveness Overview and the Culture Development Guide containing Team Results and the Effectiveness Overview including correlating results.

We reserve the right, at our discretion, to modify or remove portions of this Privacy Policy at any time. This Privacy Policy is in addition to any other Terms and Conditions applicable to our www.heartlifeindicator.com website. We do not make any representations about third party websites that may be linked to the website. This Privacy Policy applies solely to information collected by HeartLife.

Personal and organisational information

Personal and organisational information about visitors to our site is collected only when knowingly and voluntarily submitted. HeartLife does require users to register to access the online Indicator and its associated features.

In order to use the HeartLife Indicator and its associated features, a survey participant and organisation administrator must first complete the registration process. During registration a survey participant and organisational administrator is required to give their contact information (such as name and contact details). This information is used to register the survey participant and organisation as part of the ongoing research of the HeartLife Indicator, to ensure the integrity of the data submitted and that data is used only once as part of the population group for the statistical analysis.

All responses to our HeartLife Indicator will be statistically analysed to help us improve the accuracy of the survey. After a decade of research and development, a factor analysis and heuristic validation of the HeartLife Questionnaire has been statistically validated by Anderson, D. & Trey, S., (2008) in an unpublished research report by the Department of Curriculum Studies, University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada. This means that the individual result in conjunction with the results of three others, are statistically accurate and represent a thorough examination of personal behaviour. When the HeartLife website generates a collective behaviour Indicator, this Indicator has been formed by averaging the Indicators of those in the group that is represents.

We use the survey participant information to gather broad demographic information for aggregate use in ongoing statistical validation studies for the HeartLife Indicator and its associated features. These analyses always concern the answers of large numbers of people and are not analysed about any individual person.

Use of information

All personal and organisational information collected on the forms contained on this website are used for the purposes of developing research and may in the future be used to potentially send newsletters, updates and reminders to the end user. You will have the option to opt out of these newsletters/reminders. We do not sell or provide information about you, such as your email address or questionnaire results, to any third party. We do not share this information with other outside parties except the statisticians working on refining the questionnaire.

Apart from where you have consented or disclosure is necessary to achieve the purpose for which it was submitted, personal and organisational information may be disclosed in special situations where we have reason to believe that doing so is necessary to identify, contact or bring legal action against anyone damaging, injuring, or interfering (intentionally or unintentionally) with our rights or property, users, or anyone else who could be harmed by such activities.
